The tactile choice
Some kitchens want the warmth, grain and quiet of real timber. De Terra worktops are solid wood with durable oiled finishes that deepen in character as they age. Small marks become part of the surface's story, and unlike laminate, timber can be sanded and re-oiled back to fresh.
Wood also pairs beautifully with stone: many of our favourite kitchens run quartz or granite around the wet zones with a De Terra breakfast bar or island top for warmth. We cut and fit both, so the junctions are handled properly.
Cut, sealed and fitted like everything else we make
Timber moves with the seasons, so a wood worktop lives or dies by its fitting: correct fixings, sealed cut-outs and finished edges. Ours get the same made-to-measure treatment as our stone, from the same workshop, with the same people fitting.
