About Us
Two trades, one workshop, thirty years
The Marble Works East Anglia was founded in 1995 by a granite specialist and a kitchen fitter who met on a job and spotted the gap between their trades.
Built on a site handshake in 1995
John Prosser came from granite flooring and cladding on major construction projects. Richard Westaway was an experienced kitchen fitter. Working a shared job, they noticed the same thing from opposite ends: kitchens needed stone people, and stone people rarely understood kitchens. The Marble Works East Anglia was their answer, and the thinking has not changed since: understand the room, respect the material, and control every step in between.
Three decades on we are still on Farthing Road in Ipswich, still family run, and still training our own team in-house to the standards John and Richard set.
Everything happens under our roof
Templating, sawing, edge moulding, polishing, fitting: every stage is done by our own people. No jobbing fabricators, no mystery subcontractors in your kitchen. It is why we can promise a typical 8 working day turnaround and actually keep it.
The finish is everything
Machines cut the stone; hands finish it. Every edge and join is polished by stonemasons trained in this workshop, because the last half-millimetre is the part you touch every day for the next twenty years. From sleek kitchen centrepieces to tailored bathroom surfaces, the standard is the same.
Judge the results yourself
Homeowners, kitchen fitters and builders
Roughly half our work comes through the trade: kitchen companies and builders who need templating and fabrication they can rely on. The other half is homeowners who walk into the showroom with a sketch. Both get the same workshop, the same team and the same standards.
We also sell off-cuts in a range of colours and materials, priced to move. Handy for utility rooms, hearths and window boards: ask what is in stock.
The suppliers behind our stone
We buy from more than 15 stone and solid surface manufacturers, including Corian, Caesarstone, Technistone and The Marble & Granite Centre, so you choose from hundreds of colours rather than one brand's catalogue.
Click a logo to browse that supplier's colour range, then ask us to price it.
